HARRY POTTER AND THE ORDER OF THE PHOENIX FULL MOVIE SERIES
It’s a forewarning of the impending war, with a sinister undercurrent that’s bolstered by the hateful High Inquisitor and inexplicable lover of kittens, Dolores Umbridge (played with deliciously wicked malice by Imelda Staunton). To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Harry Potter, LEGO is releasing a series of new LEGO Harry Potter sets, which are available to pre-order now.įrom the tantalizing tactics of Wizarding Chess to Polyjuice Potion trickery, the sets are packed full of popular characters, creatures and imaginative features to help young builders reenact their favourite adventures from the films, as well as crafting magical storylines of their own. There’s a foreboding feeling from the get-go, as Harry and cousin Dudley are attacked by dementors, and Harry subsequently faces a hearing at the Ministry of Magic.ĭespite the initial witch-hunt, the Ministry isn’t just a threat against Harry, it’s a threat against Hogwarts and Dumbledore himself – something that, for fans and the characters, can’t be tolerated. These themes run through each film to varying degrees, more so in the latter movies, but The Order Of The Phoenix balances the light and dark, the good vs bad of the story, in a way that manages to be both hilariously entertaining and incredibly threatening – primarily down to the Ministry of Magic’s malevolent presence. The Order Of The Phoenix, however, encapsulates everything that Harry Potter has always been about, perfectly portraying the themes at the heart of JK Rowling’s story: bureaucracy vs truth, loyalty, unity, fascism, love, death and, above all else, fortitude. Watching all eight movies in chronological order, there’s a natural progression from the light-hearted days of The Philosopher’s Stone – where ‘you-know-who’ was a mere whisper on the horizon – to the dark and doomy denouement of The Deathly Hallows Part 2. In fact, it has an almost permanent position in the middle, suggesting a mediocre quality – in terms of Potter movies that is – which feels undeserving of a film that marks a significant turning point in the series and features so many important moments.
